Latest News This Week in Disaster Resilience 19 October 2018 Read more Floodplain Manager September 2018 Read more NSW Roadside Environment Committee’s 2017-18 Annual Report - Molino Stewart has provided Executive Support Services to the NSW Roadside Environment Committee (REC) during the past nine years. The REC was established in 1994 by the NSW Government in recognition of the environmental values of linear reserves. The REC is an umbrella body of linear infrastructure managers and environment organisations that promotes and coordinates leading practice in linear reserve environmental management across the State. Molino Stewart has recently prepared the REC's annual report for 2017-2018. The report outlines the achievements of the REC particularly in relation to the implementation of its strategic plan. Molino Stewart Audit Leads to Piggery Clean Up - An environmental audit conducted by Steven Molino of Molino Stewart demonstrated that the piggery was not being operated in a competent manner as was required by its operating licence in relation to its management of effluent and wastes and that it had provided false statements to the EPA. That assessment along with a water and nutrient balance model prepared by Water Technology’s Tony MacAlister and soil sampling results demonstrated that the operation was overloading the soil with nutrients and water. The result was a guilty plea in the NSW Land and Environment Court and the acceptance of a court order to undertake substantial improvements to the condition of infrastructure and management practices. Molino Stewart Helps Winning Harbour Bridge Climb Bid - Hammons Holdings, the operator of Scenic World in the Blue Mountains, has won the contract to operate the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb for the next 20 years. Molino Stewart has been providing environmental impact and planning advice and organising development approvals for Scenic World since 1995 which has seen it transformed from a quirky collection of rides dating from the 1940’s and 50’s into an iconic 21st century tourist attraction providing unique experiences of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. The environmental planning provisions which apply to Scenic World are complex because of its setting, the site’s heritage values and the uniqueness of the development. It was Molino Stewart’s ability to navigate a way through these complexities which saw Hammon Holdings turn to Molino Stewart for input into its Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb bid. We are looking forward to helping Hammon Holdings gain the planning approvals it needs to realise its vision for opening up the Bridge to more people and enabling them to experience it in new and exciting ways.
